Standard press signatures are multiples of 4 pages (8, 16, 32). Each fold doubles layers. A 16-page signature uses one sheet folded three times (2³ = 8 leaves = 16 pages).

Imposition uses non-sequential page pairing so reading order is correct after folding. Page 1 never sits next to page 2 on the flat — use standard signature templates or imposition software.
