CRLF, CR, LF, NEL, LS, and PS each separate logical lines; CRLF counts as one separator. A final separator terminates the last line and does not add an extra line.

Logical Line Counts

Reports total lines, non-empty lines, and empty or whitespace-only lines. A visual wrap caused by the display width is not counted as another line.

Input Behavior

Empty input has zero logical lines. Counts describe decoded text boundaries, not programming-language code structure.
